Bike Michiana Coalition  –  A good source for all things bicycling in Michiana and the sponsor of Bike the Work Week, May 21-25, 2012, and Bike Michiana for Hospice in September.

Michiana Bicycle Association – Looking for more opportunities for organized bicycling?  Take a look at MBA, the sponsor of Amishland and Lakes bike ride, August 3-5, 2012.    They also have  group bicycle rides throughout our community about every day of the week!

Northern Indiana Mountain Bike Association (NIMBA) – Looking for an off road bicycling experience?  Check out NIMBA to see what this group is all about.  Every see a mountain bike unicycle?  A couple of NIMBA people were demonstrating them at our 2011 Packet Pickup Event.  Click here to see them in action.

Notre Dame Cycling Team – This spring, ND Cycling is partnering with Bike the Bend and the South Bend Silver Hawks to promote reading and healthy lifestyles in local elementary schools.  Swoop’s reading club encourages elementary school children to read for small incentives such as Bike the Bend bookmarks, posters, and coloring sheets. Once each student has hit a “home run” of reading, they win a ticket to a Silverhawks game.

Granger Paths – This group is making Granger roads safer for pedestrians and bicyclists.  Check them out…this grassroots organization has accomplished a lot.  They are having their Annual 5K Run/Walk and 1 mile Family Fun Run on Sunday May 20, 2012.  Yes, we know that is the same day as Bike the Bend, but that doesn’t stop us from supporting a good organization.  We are fortunate to have so many activities to choose from in our area.

Friends of the Pumpkinvine Nature Trail – Another grassroots organization that has accomplished so much to increase bicycling opportunities in Elkhart County. The Pumpkinvine Bike Ride, June 16, 2012 is a great way to see how their efforts have paid off.

Indiana-Michigan River Valley Trail – What would you think about a 34 mile bike trail connecting Niles, MI to Mishawaka, IN with future plans to extend east to Elkhart and north to Berrien Springs?  Pretty awesome, we think.  St. Joseph County Parks is working on the section between Roseland and the Indiana/Michigan state line.

Nickel Plate Trail – A wonderful rails- to-trails conversion running between Rochester and Peru, IN

Bike South Bend – Want to see what the City of South Bend is doing for bicycling and learn more about existing bicycle paths and routes?  Here is their site.

Bike Elkhart – Elkhart is coming on strong for bicycling.  Check out their website for the latest.
