Jeff Nixa will be hosting a bike-advocacy gathering at his home 7-9pm on Tuesday, Feb. 5th, 2008. Jeff was chair of Bike to Work Week in Michiana for 2006 and 2007, is a member of the Paint the Town Bike Coalition and year-round bike commuter.
“I’d like the evening to be relaxed and fun: 1. a chance to meet other bike people, and 2. a discussion to identify bike-priorities for 2008… It will be a successful evening if we can identify one or two key activities, discern who is good at what, and identify some leadership/team for each idea. Please bring your ideas and, as importantly, your passion. (Personally, I’d like to develop a bicycle station in South Bend, a la the Millenium Park Bike Station in downtown Chicago, which serves 150+ serious bike-commuters, tourists and recreational bikers every day. See http://www.chicagobikestation.com/ )”
If interested, contact Jeff Nixa at 574-246-1682, or wilson-nixa@sbcglobal.net for directions to his home. Jeff lives in South Bend’s Near Northwest Neighborhood.
