Over 200 racers from Midwest colleges will descend on Michiana to compete in the fourth annual Midwest Collegiate Cycling Conference (MWCCC) Race Weekend hosted by the Notre Dame Cycling Team.
The MWCCC includes college teams from Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, Ohio, and Wisconsin. They will be competing on Saturday and Sunday, April 12 and 13: Saturday they will be at the Greene Intermediate Center south of the city, and Sunday races will be near the Eddy Street Commons just south of the ND campus.
Jim Snitzer, a spokesman for Notre Dame Cycling said “we are looking for lots of volunteers” to serve at the registration tables and as Corner Marshals. Volunteers, vital in keeping this event alive in Michiana, are urged to sign up for one or more shifts on either (or both) Saturday and Sunday. No experience is needed, as training will be provided. Take a look at the description of the volunteer duties, and then go to the Sign-Up Sheet. Snitzer said if prospective volunteers have any questions they should not hesitate to send him an e-mail at bike@nd.edu or call his cell at 847-452-6823.
