ND Cycling Classic: Race Details and Volunteer Request

The Notre Dame Cycling Classic weekend will be Saturday, 3/26, and Sunday, 3/27.

This two-day collegiate race series will feature a Team Time Trial (TTT) and Road Race (RR) on Saturday, and a criterium race (crit) on Sunday. Saturday’s TTT and RR will be on county roads just north of Potato Creek State Park, but Sunday’s spectator-friendly crits will involve many high-speed laps around a short course in downtown South Bend.

Volunteers:
Volunteers are particularly needed for Saturday’s TTT and RR. If you can spare a few hours helping out it would make a big difference and be greatly appreciated by the ND cycling team. No experience or equipment is necessary to volunteer. If you can volunteer, please add your name by a time slot on their online volunteer spreadsheet and contact Joe Magro (bike@nd.edu) for further instructions.

Fans:
Spectators are also welcome for the Saturday’s TTT and RR, but the courses are long enough that racers will only go by every forty minutes or so. Sunday’s crits, however, are ideal for spectators. Racers will go north on Michigan St and south on Main St between Washington and Wayne Streets, and anywhere along the course will be great for fans. Races start at 8:00 a.m., with the Division A Women’s and Men’s races starting at 11:15 a.m. and 12:15 p.m., respectively.

For more information about the race weekend, including detailed listings of start times and course maps, please see the official event invitation at USA Cycling.
