Notre Dame Cycling Races – volunteers needed

Notre Dame cycling is hosting a criterium in downtown South Bend on Sunday, April 14. They need four corner marshals from 8:30 am until about 12:30 pm, and four from 12:30 pm to about 4:30 pm.

This event is a real boost to the awareness of cycling in Michiana, and any help to make the event a success will be greatly appreciated! To volunteer, or get more information contact Jim Snitzer  at jsnitzer@nd.edu.

If you have never been a corner marshal, I think you will enjoy your 4 hour shift. Your main responsibility will be to alert pedestrians that a bunch of bikes traveling at about 20 – 30 mph are approaching at each lap. And, of course, notify officials should there be a crash near your corner.
