South Bend becomes third Indiana city to pass three foot rule

SOUTH BEND — A new law will soon take effect requiring drivers to leave at least three feet of space between themselves and any bicycle they attempt to pass. The South Bend Common Council passed the measure unanimously Monday night, to the applause of several bicyclists in the room. No one spoke in opposition to the bill.
