Jacob Beshara is the first South Bend Bike Ambassador appointed through the AmeriCorps cohort serving with MACOG . Jacob partners with the City of South Bend and other partners to encourage bicycling. He will be available about three hours a week to teach residents how to repair their bicycles at the Charles Black Center. Jacob also assists with bike valet at public events where cleaning and minor repairs are provided to encourage active transportation and ensures mobile bike racks are available at public events. Jacob will also be coordinating with area community organizations, like La Casa da Amistad, to regularly provide bike cleaning and minor maintenance for residents to reduce at least one of the barriers to biking in South Bend.
